About me/Services

About me

I am a graduate of the Saint Paul Technical College Watchmakers of Switzerland Training and Education Program. I have been a watchmaker in the retail jewelery business and am now a free-lance watchmaker in Minneapolis. I work with individuals and businesses to repair watches of all varieties.

I can and will work on almost all brands of new and vintage pocket watches and wristwatches. Just a few of the brands I service include Omega, Rolex, Tag Heuer, Cartier, Seiko, Citizen, Elgin, Hamilton and Bulova. I can also work on replica watches!

About my services

A short listing of services I offer with the basic labor charge:

  • Estimates: Free!
  • Standard mechanical overhaul: $100
  • Standard automatic overhaul: $125
  • Standard chronograph overhaul: $145
  • Standard quartz movement replacement: $30 (plus cost of the movement)
  • Crystal replacement: $20 (plus cost of the crystal)
  • Crystal buffing: $5
  • Case and bracelet refurbish: $50
  • Case refurbish: $30
  • Shipping to your home or business after completion: $6 for priority shipping with delivery confirmation. If you would like to have your package insured for replacement value, please let me know and I will give you a quote on that.

Other charges to consider:

  • Typically, parts will be charged at $5 over cost to cover any shipping and handling charges. If extended research is involved to find a part, that time will be charged at the additional labor rate, but how much time I spend looking for a part is entirely up to you.
  • Additional labor charges will be $10 per quarter-hour over the basic labor charge listed above. The basic labor charge for overhauls assumes one hour of work.
  • Mechanical or quartz movements with complications such as moon phases, double or triple dates, perpetual calendars, etc. will require more than the standard time for repair. The basic charge is $10 per complication.

If there is a service you require but don’t see it here, please contact me for a free estimate.

*I do not pick-up or deliver to residences. If there are factors (such as the value of the timepiece) that make the use of a postal service prohibitive, I will be happy to meet clients at a non-residential, public destination for a $10 fee. Thank you in advance for your understanding!
